Since opening our doors in 2007 and firing up our first oven the provenance of our cakes has been at the heart of what we do.  From working with local quality ingredient suppliers, to our traditional baking methods of handmade and hand decorating right through to the packaging we carefully select to protect and keep our cakes as fresh as the day they were made.

Trusted Quality Ingredients

We are proud to be working with trusted, quality local suppliers for our ingredients.
Our flour, sourced from neighbouring Northamptonshire is produced from the softest winter wheat and milled to our exact specifications . This attention to detail ensures that each and every product that we lovingly produce is created from the smallest crumb resulting in the best possible texture which can only be found from a handmade product.
Working with the best farming families, our egg supplier just 20 minutes down the road in Worcestershire, ensures we have the freshest eggs possible for our cakes.  Their ethos of “Happy Hens produce better eggs” is something we at Fatherson believe in as well.  From their farm with the highest standards of food safety and hygiene combined with every egg carrying the lion mark, guarantees the best possible health and welfare for the hens and ensures our cakes rise in every bake.   “If Happy Hens produce better eggs then better eggs produce the tastiest cakes.”
We ensure that our suppliers operate to the highest standards of food safety and hygiene and have acquired recognised accreditations. These standards are mirrored throughout our own bakery demostrated by the SALSA accreditation for food quality and standards and the 5 star Health & Hygiene rating we carry. 
        

We are so proud of our ingredients we are accredited by Happerly who rigorously assess all aspects of a products supply chain.  They only certify a product if the brand has nothing to hide and they can share instant access to its independently validated ingredient supply chain.

In the few products we have palm oil in we ensure we only source from sustainable sources

Traditional Handmade baking

Ever since baking our first Lemon Drizzle Loaf our trained bakers have made sure that our principles of “The taste of homemade” runs through every loaf, every sponge and ever cake and pie that leaves our bakery. 

Our baking methods are simply a scaled-up version of your kitchen at home.  Our mixers and ovens might be a little larger than those in your kitchen but we use the same baking techniques and store cupboard ingredients which is why our cakes look and taste like they have come out of your own oven.

Individually Hand decorated

After our cakes have been baked and had time to cool then our skilled team of cake decorators lovingly ice, top and finish every cake.  From our delicious sponges filled with jam, butter icing and other great fillings to our butterfly’s cut, filled and topped each cake is decorated and carefully packed.

We have chosen our packaging to protect and display our products at their best.  The simplicity of our bags minimises packaging waste and all our plastic boxes are made from 100% recyclable plastic and are 100% recyclable.  All our card packaging is made from at least 80% recycled card and is 100% recyclable.  Ensuring we continue to protect our environment and become the first eco bakery is really important to us. 

As each cake is handmade and hand decorated no two are ever the same.  Every step of the way each cake is quality checked before we are happy to put Fatherson “The taste of homemade” to it.

 

Delivered fresh daily

Apart from creating award winning and "delicious cakes honestly made" we offer our customers weekly deliveries with a 24 hour lead time delivery service.  Our dedicated delivery team ensure fresh cakes arrive safely into your local stores across the length and breadth of the UK whatever the weather.
